Course Description
This course is an introductory course for 4-8th grade educators to explore, evaluate, and choose Web 2.0 tools that can be used successfully in their classroom to enhance the education of their students.
Course Overview
Audience
The audience for this class is 4th through 8th grade educators that would like to integrate technology into the classroom and increase their comfort level with technology.
This class would require that students have basic computer skills . This is assessed by the student's ability to successfully log into the online class, to access and complete the online pre-course survey, and to access the university's student email.
Diversity
This class is open to all educators from around the world. As a result this class has the potential to offer students exposure to many different cultures, beliefs, and traditions. Students can enrich their classrooms with ideas from educators that live in other countries. Even if the only students that register are educators from the United States one recognizes that the United States is a leader in diversity and is home to people of many different cultures, languages, traditions, and beliefs.

This online course’s objectives and activities are in line with the university’s mission statement because their mission states that they are career focused and this class is designed for educators that have a career and want to improve their skills to achieve personal growth in there careers.
Their mission statement also mentions the learning of diverse students and their goal to serve a global society. This class addresses the diverse learners by containing activities that use Web 2.0 Tools that differentiate instruction by allowing students to create projects that reflect their personality and can be completed within the level of their knowledge of technology. The university's mission to serve a global society is addressed by this class by allowing all qualified students from all over the world to register. Students who will take this online class will enhance their education by being exposed to students from other countries with different tradition, beliefs and cultures.
